Dear milonguero friends, We're delighted to announce the addition of two extraordinary milongueros to our August 2010 program: Eduardo 'El Nene' Masci - teaching with Maria Plazaola. El Nene has danced tango almost as long as he can remember and has become renowned on BsAs dance floors in the last decades for his soft, subtle style. One of Maria's favourite men to dance with - and the focus of many a woman's eye! - he also attracts the curious gaze of many men as he passes by their tables. "How DOES he do that step?" Alberto, too, has spent much of his life on the dance floors of his hometown. His passion for the music and the dance have led him to teach in recent years, most frequently with Eva, who has come to know his technique and style with in-depth knowledge and respect. "Tango should be danced as poetry," says Alberto. Read more about him here: http://www.milongueandoenba.com/new/english/p_dassieu.html

Mini-Intensive Milonga Course, with María Plazaola and Hugo Samek (Level B):
This course presents an original work about the rhythm of the milonga and the tango history of the Rio de la Plata. The use of drums and percussion not only adds an entertaining dynamic to the classes, but underlines the rythmic characteristics of the milonga, enabling us to understand it better. This new didactical focus helps participants to dance the different milonga sequences taught during the course, while being naturally in contact with rhythm and movement, and rediscovering the ancient link that works as a powerful catalyst of physical energy.

Dear milonguero friends,
This email has a two-fold purpose: we wanted to remind you about the forthcoming closing date for the Earlybird bookings: January 18 - just a week away. Register before then to guarantee your place in the classes of your choice, at a lower fee. Click here to reach the registration page directly .
And we want to send a special farewell to a dear friend whom many of you will know passed away last week. Susana Miller wrote the following message in memory of Tete, one of Milongueando's much loved teachers:
"Farewell Tete. Today is your birthday and you're not here to enjoy it or to enliven the milonga with your inimitable mischief and innocence. Your death creates a painful absence in a community that has known your indefatigable presence throughout 6 decades. Generations have developed under your light and your angel. On the dance floor, the table with your friends, the old guard of milongueros, will watch over you as they dance, which will be a way to express the sadness and the tenderness inspired by your memory. I know that if you were here you'd agree, with that lopsided smile of yours that characterised you, as you called: change partners. Farewell Tetito."
Please don't hesitate to write with questions about the festival. We look forward to hearing from you.
Un abrazo milonguero
